Myself and My Blog

My name is Becca. I am daily blessed by the grace of our Lord, and I have the privilege to be married to Ethan and to be Caleb, Hannah, Isaac, Jonathan, and Josiah's Mommy.

Our blogging journeys began in 2006 while we were still living in town and just had a dream of starting a farm. Ethan began The Beginning Farmer Blog to organize his thought process, and I joined him blogging as the Beginning Farmer's Wife in 2007.  Our dreams of farming became a reality when we purchased a bare piece of land in 2007, which would become Crooked Gap Farm.

I am now a stay at home, homeschooling, farming wife and mom . . . and I have one of the best jobs around!

My days are filled with making the home a welcoming place for all, helping my husband out as much as possible around the farm, raising and teaching our four young children to be responsible and to know they are loved uncontrollably, and managing the home in a frugal and healthy way through gardening, preserving, and creating, all in order to be a good steward of the gifts we've been given.

Although I cringe at considering myself "older", it is my prayer that my blog will be one way I can live out the life-filling guidance found in Titus 2:3-5 - to help others who are seeking to provide for their home and family as well as challenging myself and encouraging others to bring along the next generation to do the same.

Similarly, teach the older women to live in a way that honors God. They must not slander others or be heavy drinkers, Instead, they should teach others what is good. These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children, to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of God.   Titus 2:3-5
